A launch that arrives in stages creates a planning problem: the version you can use today may not be the version in the demos.

Our 11 October piece covered Kling 4.0's HDR output. A launch that arrives in stages creates a planning problem: the version you can use today may not be the version in the demos.

## The pattern

Several recent video releases have shipped a faster, cheaper flash tier first, with the full model following later or arriving to a smaller group. The demos usually show the full model. The tier you can book is often the lighter one.

## A practical way to handle it

- Match the tier to the job. Use the fast tier for look development, animatics, and previs. Hold final-quality shots for the model you have confirmed access to.
- Re-run one benchmark shot on each tier and keep the pair side by side. The gap is your real quality difference for your own material.
- Check whether HDR, long duration, and the larger reference limit apply to the tier you are using. Features advertised at launch often belong to the top tier only.
- Do not commit a delivery date to a model that is announced but not yet available to you.

## Cost

A cheaper tier changes iteration economics. Cheaper drafts mean more exploration before you spend on finals, which is the same logic as the draft-then-enhance workflow we described for FLUX 3. Check per-second prices against our earlier price-check method before you compare tiers.

## A per-clip choice

Mixing tiers, and mixing local and cloud generation, is a per-clip decision. In RenderBob you can choose local or cloud for each clip, with references and prompt logs staying with the studio, and generated clips on their own lane.

## What to watch

The date the full Kling 4.0 reaches general availability, and whether the feature gap between tiers is documented by Kling or discovered by users.
